PTSD – Post-traumatic Stress Disorder

Let’s talk a little about PTSD today…

I’m heading a bit off topic today and wanted to tell you a little about somebody I met that has PTSD or Post-traumatic Stress Disorder.

I have something strange going on with my left eye where my vision is distorted right where I see.  It’s called Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR).  It’s basically a fluid bubble in the middle of my retina caused by my blood vessels leaking.  It makes for a fun time trying to focus on things.

Anyway, the reason I mentioned the CSR is that I met a man named Paul who works at my Ophthalmologist’s office.  He was the guy who took the pictures of my retina with this big camera that has really bright lights.  As I visited with him while he was shining these bright lights into my eye, I learned that he was in the military and he had injured both of his knees.  His right knee had been operated on twice and he has fluid squishing around in both of them.  It looked kinda gross when he showed me how he could move the fluid around his knee.

Paul told me he had constant pain in both of his knees and I thought he would be a perfect candidate to talk to about what I’ve been using to help with my pain.  So we scheduled a time to sit down and visit about it.

emitter_in_handI met with Paul and his wife and showed them the products that Juuva has to offer.  While we visited, I had Paul take one of the Anion Emitters and asked him to wave it around his knees to see if it would help with the pain.  After about 15 minutes he stopped using the Emitter and started to lean forward so he could get a better look at the items I was talking about.  I stopped and asked if he was having any issues with the Emitter.  He said he wasn’t having any issues but, rather, that his knees had stopped hurting.

I said that was awesome and he agreed to keep the Emitter for a few days to give it a good test.  I like to loan these Emitters out to people so they can get a deeper understanding about how effective they are.  Most people have very good results with it when they’ve used it for a while.

One week later I stopped by the office where Paul works to pick up the Emitter.  When he came out to the waiting area he was quite excited.  We hadn’t discussed his PTSD before and while we visited there he told me about how he has struggled with it for quite some time and that just wearing the Emitter in his pocket decreased his PTSD by about 80%.

Paul said that he had been using some natural supplements that were supposed to reduce the PTSD and that they were only helping to reduce it by about 20% of what he had been experiencing.  He was very excited that the Emitter was working so much better and that he would no longer need to keep paying for the supplements each month.

I was rather surprised because I hadn’t heard of anybody having that kind of reaction to just having the Emitter in their pocket.  Paul told me that his wife and mother-in-law had noticed such a dramatic improvement in him that if he didn’t purchase one they would have bought one for him.

I couldn’t resist giving off a good laugh.

Needless to say, Paul bought the emitter right then and each time I go in to have my eye checked he has it on him and is so pleased with it.

I continue to meet people who are obtaining relief from a variety of aches and pain by using this simple looking thing.  Each time I pull the emitter out to demonstrate what it can do, the person I’m talking with has this puzzled look that kind of says to me, “You’re going to show me a pen”?

So, yes, I’m going to show you a pen.

Ever ‘feel’ a storm coming?

Have you ever heard of somebody that could feel a storm coming?

I really hadn’t thought a whole lot about it until I contracted my Rheumatoid Arthritis.  (Contract(ed)…  sounds like it’s something I signed up for)

I’ve heard of people that have arthritis or have had broken bones being able to feel a storm front that was approaching.  I’ve read articles that claim there’s no scientific evidence that this can actually happen.  I’ve also read articles that it can.  One interesting article is located here.

This article states: “However, it’s important to note that this process is entirely theoretical because the swelling — if it really is taking place — is happening on such a small scale that it cannot be detected by any scientific means.”

So, I wonder…

If something can’t be measured does it mean it’s not happening at all?  I, for one, believe that science is good yet it does not have all of the answers.  There are many things that science can’t explain.  There are many theories that have come and gone.  A good scientist will try to prove or disprove a theory.  But, what if said theory cannot be proven or disproved?  What then?  I do know there are things that are considered factual that are truly based on a theory.

I was told by one scientist that many of the so-called truths we hold true are actually based on a theory.  He gave me the example of carbon dating.  He said the basis of testing could not be proven or disproved but it was assumed (you know what that means) to have been true so the rest of the research could be continued.  Now, I’ve not dug in to investigate this myself but he’s one person that I would believe.

Whether there’s scientific evidence that would support the ‘myth’ of being able to feel a storm approaching or not, I do know that I have been able to feel it myself.  I would dare say that you’ve been able to feel it yourself, as well.

I’m a weather forecaster.

For years I’ve felt the approaching low front of storms, about 1-1/2 days before they hit.  You probably know how that goes.  The shoulders, knees or whatever have been aching more than they normally do and you finally realize that you’re hurting more than you should.  When this would happen I’d get on the internet and check the weather.  Yup, a storm’s a comin’.  Voilà!  I’m a weather forecaster.

Sometimes several storms will pass over, one right after the other.  Now, that’s when it gets really fun.  I can only guess that the barometric pressure is fluctuating up and down between each storm and that increases the sensitivity of the tissue in the joints.  When these multiple storms come through, the aches turn into pain.

I’ve dealt with this ‘myth’ for most of the 26 years I’ve had RA.

There are days when I just get so tired of the stuff.  You’re probably reading this, wanting to tell me that I have it good compared to you.  If I could get to know you, chances are that I would agree.  My RA hasn’t been debilitating for me, just more of a pain in the neck (pun intended).

Pain is not fun.  It can wear you down mentally and cause you to feel absolutely exhausted.  I’ve had times where it feels like I’m walking through ankle or knee deep water when I’m simply walking down the sidewalk.  My joints will feel like I’m pushing against something like the water and my first reaction will be to slow down so they don’t hurt so much.

Oh, another thing is when I have to do something that’s above my head and I’m reaching my arms up, like changing a light bulb in a ceiling light fixture.  Holding my arms up like that for a few minutes causes my shoulders to start burning.  Ever felt that?  If what I’m doing takes too long I’ll need to lower my arms to my sides and allow the burning sensation to stop and then raise my arms up again and continue what I was doing.

So, what do I do about it?

If you’ve read through some of the other posts I’ve made here you might get tired of me going back to the products Juuva markets.  Okay, I’m heading there again.  What can I say?  They’ve made a huge difference for me and the pain I’ve experienced for so long.

Galaxy is what I’m wanting to highlight here today.  It’s a juice blend of 32 different ingredients that has been classified as a nutritional supplement.  In case you don’t know, being a nutritional supplement means it’s more than just a juice mix.

Since I’ve been drinking Galaxy I no longer feel the storms coming in.  It took about three months for me to notice but virtually every time a storm rolls across the sky I just marvel at how nice it was to not feel it coming.

I know this is all anecdotal and I have no proof but I’m sticking with what I’m saying, proof or not.

I’ve visited with people that have shared their story with me on how Galaxy has made a difference for them.  I’m not going to get into those stories here.  I’ll just ask that you go to Juuva’s site and read the various testimonials they have posted there.

Broken Bones, Pain Relief

Ever had some broken bones and wanted pain relief?

ronlI work with a guy named Ron.  He’s an older man in his early 60’s, a little bit onthe heavy side, gray hair, a rather nice guy and all.

Ron acts like any other 60ish man would, where he walks and moves a little more gingerly than he did a few years ago.

Several weeks ago, Ron was trying to get on a horse and because he didn’t pay much attention to how tight the cinch was on the saddle, it rotated around when he tried to get on the horse and ended up falling off.  He didn’t think much about it, cinched up the saddle and got back on the horse.

Remember, Ron’s not exactly a spring chicken any more.

Ron and his friends rode their horses up the mountain to reach a cabin.  The ride took three hours and they stayed up there for four days.  Ron told me he wasn’t in a lot of pain, at first, just really uncomfortable.

The longer he was there the more he ached.  When it was time to come out Ron was hurting too much to ride back out.  He ended up having the search_rescue_helicopterSearch and Rescue fly him out by helicopter.

Well, Ron had shattered his left collar bone and broke six ribs when he fell off that horse. I didn’t see him for about a week after he was hurt and he was still bruised up pretty good.  Ron showed me his collar bone area and it was all purple-ish.

Last year, Ron had purchased one of our Anion Anion EmitterEmitters (You know, that little pen looking thing that can help reduce inflammation which causes pain and that can also help promote healing) and I asked if he had tried using it where he had broken his bones.

Ron said, “SHOOT!  I forgot about that thing”.

That evening, Ron clipped the emitter to his shirt right next to his collar bone and he said the pain, gradually, went away.  He started taping it to his rib areas to help with the pain he was feeling there.  He commented that he wished he had several of the emitters so all of the painful areas could feel better.

Ron even told me he believe that emitter helped his collar bone heal up faster.  Now, I’m not sure if it really did or not but I’ve been told that it can help things heal up faster.

I just hope I don’t need to experience that, first hand…

Headaches

Ever had a headache that just wouldn’t go away?

I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t like to take any drugs (well, more than I absolutely have to).  When I do get a headache it will normally go away in time.  Once in a while, one will be camped out for the long haul.

I had one such headache, not long ago, that I just couldn’t get rid of.  My entire head hurt from front to back and behind my eyes.

I woke up with it but it really wasn’t that bad.  As the day progressed the pain increased more and more.  By the time I left work I just wanted to go to bed.  When I arrived home that’s exactly what I did to see if I could just sleep it off.

When I woke up the next morning it was still going full force.

As I sat at my work desk I was thinking ‘I don’t want to be here’.  I was completely miserable.  I’m sure you’ve been there before, too.  Needless to say I wasn’t getting a whole lot accomplished.emitter_in_hand

When I looked at my shirt pocket and saw my Anion Emitter I thought, ‘DUH!’  Remember that pen looking thing I’ve talked about?  I remember being told that this emitter can help get rid of headaches since it reduces inflammation.

I almost smacked myself on the forehead but I resisted because I didn’t want my head to hurt more than it already did.

Okay, my head has been hurting for over 24 hours and it didn’t seem like the pain was about to go away any time soon on its own.  I grabbed that emitter and started waving it around my head.  I did this for about 30 minutes and my arm was getting tired so I stopped.  I wonder what people would have thought if they saw me waving a pen around my head. 😀  My head wasn’t starting to feel any better so I figured it was a useless attempt to help the pain.

Have you ever noticed that you can tell, right away, when something starts to hurt but yet when the pain goes away, little-by-little, that you really don’t pay any attention to the fact that it’s gone?

I sat at my desk working on the computer for about another 30 minutes and I completely forgot about my pain because I didn’t notice that it had slowly gone away.  When I did realize my head didn’t hurt any more I was just dumbfounded.  I couldn’t believe it!  I had suffered for an entire day and this weird little pen thing just helped my headache go away.

I do have to say that it hasn’t made ALL of my headaches go away.  I’m not a doctor so I’m not familiar with the various causes of headaches and I can’t make recommendations on how to treat your headache.  I just know that whenever my head starts to hurt I’m waving this little ‘magic wand’ around the area that hurts just to see if it helps.

On a off-the-wall side note…

While I was researching headaches and their causes, I came across one article that described what’s called Sex Headaches.  I thought, you’ve got to be kidding!  People get headaches caused by having sex?

Maybe I’ll strap an emitter on my head from now on, just in case….  😉

Hip Pain

How about an RA drive-by attack?

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a systemic disease, meaning it invades the entire system(body).  If you have RA you’ll know what I’m talking about when I say that it can decide to settle in any joint of the body at any time.

One day it’s in the shoulder.  The next day it’s the knee or both knees.  Virtually everyday it’s in the hands, especially when you first wake up.  Today, it’s in my hip.

Many times I’ve just been walking along and a nice ol’ jab of pain will hit my hip, almost causing me to emitter_in_handfall down due to the pain.  No warning.  No aching.  Just a knife being shoved into my hip.

My RA likes to remind me that we’re constant companions and that he goes wherever I go.

Fortunately, I have my Anion Emitter with me.  This thing is just amazing.  I don’t think I can count how many times this has reduced or eliminated the pain I experience due to my RA.  I’ve shown this to several people and have loaned it out so others can experience the amazing effects this has on inflammation based pain.

emitter_in_pocketWhen ‘Arthur’ decides to hit my hip like this I simply slide my emitter into my pocket and attach the clip.  This positions the emitter right next to my hip joint and the pain begins to subside within a few minutes.

I recall the first time I tried this.  I was walking down the hallway at work and a sudden shot of pain penetrated my hip joint.  It was quite surprising how forceful it felt.  I didn’t know if the emitter would help but I slid it into my pocket and within one minute I could tell a definite difference.

I was completely amazed!

These Juuva products keep impressing me more and more on what they do.
